The Impatient Patient: Sample Post

A little about me...

I am a mother, a published writer, and a patient with a chronic illness. Make that illnesses. You may not know from looking at me that I have Multiple Sclerosis or that I suffer from depression. Maybe the inhaler in my purse would give away that I have asthma.

There are many of us out there with multiple "invisible" disorders, unseen to the public eye. Dealing with any sort of chronic illness is hard enough. But I am finding that the real struggle is navigating the health care system to find effective treatment. Perhaps the larger problem is that once you do find good medical care you may not be able to afford it.

This blog details my quest for wellness, a journey filled with both roadblocks and victories to mark the way.

My hope is that not only will you follow me on my patient journey, but that you will share your story as well. There is much we can learn from each other. This sharing is how we cope and survive the unimaginable.
